The Sharadiya Durga Puja, the largest religious festival of the Hindu community, began today across the country in a festive and jubilant atmosphere.

This year, the Puja is being celebrated in about 33,350 mandaps nationwide, drawing millions of devotees and visitors.

According to a press release from Police Headquarters, a total of 71,066 police personnel have been deployed at puja mandaps to ensure foolproof security. Security measures have been further strengthened through coordinated efforts of Puja celebration committees, police, and Ansar members.

“The police are committed to maintaining law and order and upholding the tradition of communal harmony in Bangladesh,” the release said.
