At least three people were killed and several others injured when a Sugandha Transport bus overturned at Silonia Bazaar on the Feni–Noakhali highway on Thursday (October 2) morning.

The incident occurred around 10 am, and local residents rescued the passengers before police and fire service teams arrived at the scene.

Officials at Feni General Hospital confirmed the deaths of three victims. Two of the deceased have been identified as Shamima Ara Begum, 50, wife of Shahidul from Khushipur in Daganbhuiyan, and Md. Shrabon, 20, son of Abdul Matin from South Joylaskar village in Daganbhuiyan.

At least eight injured passengers were admitted to the 250-bed Feni General Hospital.

Mohipal Highway Police Officer-in-Charge Harun Ur Rashid said authorities are investigating the incident but have not yet confirmed the exact number of fatalities and serious injuries.

Eyewitnesses reported that the bus, traveling from Feni to Noakhali, collided with a roadside post, causing it to overturn.
