Bangladesh envoy in Greece meets Larissa mayor

Bangladesh’s ambassador to Greece Nahida Rahman Shumona discussed economic cooperation and cultural exchange when she met Larissa mayor Thanasis Mamakos on the occasion of the Thessaly Agri Business Forum 2025 in the Greek city on October 1, a release said.

Nahida Rahman, invited as a speaker in a session on the international outreach of Thessaly, highlighted opportunities for collaboration in culture, infrastructure and municipal services as well as a recent memorandum between Greece and Bangladesh on the employment of farm workers from Bangladesh.

Bangladesh has established a dedicated national agency to manage requests from countries and organisations seeking skilled personnel.

Larissa’s deputy mayor for administration and finance Achilleas Kellas and the deputy mayor for green policy Konstantinos Kalogiros attended.
