"The Roads" new album at the beginning of the year

We spoke to Zaki Mahmud, guitarist and team leader of The Roads band. He told us that the band, The Roads' new album, is being released on January 1, 2026. We talked to him about this album.

When we asked why we are releasing a full-length album when everyone else is releasing singles, he told us, "Yes, actually, this is just an attempt by us to go beyond the conventional tradition. We are not at all against releasing singles. We composed the songs a long time ago but have not been recorded. We started recording since the middle of this year. Now there is still a little work left.

We asked him what kind of songs and genres the new album will contain. He said that this album will contain songs from (rock, hard rock, rock blues and melo rock) gharana. Where they have experimented a bit with songs and sound. The songs on the album are titled
Abar, Dakghar, Smritir Michil, Swapnarang, Jadukhela, Ashol Hasi and Bidroher Gan. This time, the album will be released with 7 songs. He also said that they released a song from there a few days ago. They have converted this poem (Bidroher Gan) by poet Sukanta Bhattacharya into a song and are getting a good response from the audience. Except for the Bidroher Gan, all the songs have been written and composed by the band's lead voice and guitarist Apel Mahmud. He also said that all the songs have been recorded in their own studio and Apel Mahmud has done the sound for the mix and mastering of the songs.

When asked where the songs can be found, Zaki Mahmud said, our first album ❝Ekdin❞ which was released with 5 songs. We have uploaded only 2 songs on Facebook or YouTube. The new album and the first album will be available on audio streaming platforms and will also be available on Facebook and YouTube. When asked what to expect from the new album, he said, "In our songs this time, the audience will get a little bit of the 90s and the current sound and musical style at the same time. I am hopeful that they will like it a lot and will enjoy almost all the songs because each song is different. There is no similarity between one and the other, they are completely different. Now in the era of promotion, almost everyone boosts songs. We have not done that yet, but there is a great need to promote the songs of this album. If the songs can reach the audience in the right way, they will enjoy it a lot. I think there will be a good response."
