Mustafizur Rahman expressed his excitement after joining the Kolkata Knight Riders following a high-profile sale at the IPL 2026 mini auction.

“Hi KKR fans, I am Mustafizur Rahman. I am very happy and excited to be part of the KKR team. See you soon,” Mustafizur said in a video message shared on KKR’s social media platforms.

The move has also been viewed as a landmark moment for Bangladesh cricket, reflecting the growing recognition of its players on the global stage.

Bangladesh Cricket Board Facilities Department chairman Shanian Taneem said the IPL 2026 mini auction sale of Mustafizur Rahman for INR 9.2 crore reflected the calibre and capacity of Bangladesh cricketers.

“I think Bangladesh’s players have the calibre and capacity to be sold for this amount of money. Tk 9 crore 20 lakh for Mustafiz, I think, is the right amount. But then again, I want to say that the money is not the big thing. The fact that he is being recognised worldwide, the respect he is receiving from world cricket — that is not only for Mustafiz and his family, today it is a very big day for our Bangladesh cricket fraternity and all the fans,” Shanian Taneem said.
