NCP Convener Nahid Islam has said that the 11-party alliance retains significant political importance, even if seat-sharing arrangements are reached among its partners.

He said the alliance carries public expectations and aspirations that people clearly understand. According to him, the alliance aims to ensure a fully competitive election and achieve democratic progress through genuine electoral contest.

Nahid Islam acknowledged that some differences of opinion have emerged, as the alliance was formed within a very short timeframe. However, he expressed confidence that these disagreements would be resolved over time.

He said efforts would continue to keep the alliance intact, adding that the political process of the alliance would move forward despite any internal differences.

Referring to the electoral strategy, the NCP convener said there would be no individual party candidates within the alliance. Instead, alliance-backed candidates would contest all 300 parliamentary seats, with all partners supporting one another.
