Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina has said that the landslide victory of her party in the 12th parliamentary election is not of her victory, rather it is the victory of people.

"This victory is not of mine, rather it's people's victory," she said while exchanging views with local and foreign observers and journalists at her official Ganabhaban residence in Dhaka on Monday (January 8) afternoon.

Terming the Sunday's election as an epoch-making event, she said it was a breakthrough event for the democracy in Bangladesh. The country's communication systems would be developed further. After the 'Digital Bangladesh', now attention would be given to build 'Smart Bangladesh.' Not a single person in Bangladesh will remain impoverished.

Expressing the hope to create employment opportunities for all, Sheikh Hasina said, "We will generate employment opportunity for every single person. People's fundamental rights will be ensured further."
