To ensure a free, fair, and peaceful 13th National Parliamentary Election, strict controls have been imposed on licensed firearms. Under the directive, all legally owned firearms must be deposited at the nearest police station by January 31.

According to the announced election schedule, the national election and referendum will be held on February 12. In preparation for the polls, the carrying and display of licensed firearms will remain completely prohibited until February 15.

However, the restriction will not apply to individuals classified as politically important persons, as well as duly nominated and approved parliamentary candidates and their authorized armed retainers, in line with existing regulations.

Authorities have warned that legal action will be taken against anyone violating the directive. Necessary measures have been instructed for implementation across the country through concerned law enforcement officials.

The restriction on firearms is considered a key step in maintaining law and order during the election period, aimed at reducing the risk of violence and ensuring a calm and secure voting environment.
