Information and Broadcasting Adviser Rizwana Hasan has issued a stern warning that the government will take strict action if any attempts are made to undermine the election environment ahead of Bangladesh’s upcoming parliamentary elections.
Speaking at an event in Dhaka on Wednesday, Hasan said, “Fear is being created around the election. Rumors and misleading information are circulating through various channels. If the Awami League attempts to disrupt the election environment, the government will act decisively.”
Hasan emphasized that the election is an internal matter of Bangladesh, and no comment can be made regarding which party may come to power. She further warned that some candidates have violated campaign rules, and the government will intervene if law and order deteriorates.
“This warning is intended to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and fair electoral process, keeping voters informed and political parties responsible,” Hasan added. Analysts note that this move reflects the government’s determination to maintain a secure environment for voters during the election period.
