The Bangladesh market has introduced new gold prices, effective Sunday, February 1, while silver rates remain unchanged.

According to a notice issued on Saturday, January 31, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) raised gold prices by Tk 4,082 per bhori (11.664 grams). The increase primarily affects pure gold (tejabi gold), and the new prices reflect the current market situation.

Under the revised rates:

  • 22‑carat gold: Tk 259,699 per bhori

  • 21‑carat gold: Tk 247,918 per bhori

  • 18‑carat gold: Tk 212,518 per bhori

  • Traditional gold (Sanatan method): Tk 173,910 per bhori

BAJUS also noted that all gold sales prices must include a 5% government VAT and a 6% minimum labor charge as determined by the association. However, labor costs may vary depending on jewelry design and quality.

This marks the 19th adjustment of gold prices in Bangladesh so far in 2026, with 14 increases and 5 decreases. In comparison, gold prices were adjusted 93 times in 2025, including 64 increases and 29 decreases.

The new pricing is expected to guide jewelers and buyers amid ongoing fluctuations in international and domestic gold markets.
