Dr Yunus on way back home, swearing-in tonight

Nobel laureate Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus is set to arrive in Dhaka today (Thursday 8 August), marking a significant moment in Bangladesh’s political landscape.

According to a press release issued by Yunus Centre on Wednesday (7 August), Dr Yunus will be arriving from Paris via an Emirates flight (EK-582), scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2:10 pm on Thursday (8 August).

The arrival of Dr Yunus is of particular importance as he is expected to lead an interim government that will take its oath of office later tonight.

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place at 8:00 pm, with Dr Yunus at the helm.

This development follows a series of discussions and political movements aimed at addressing ongoing governance challenges in the country.

Dr Yunus, widely respected for his contributions to poverty alleviation and social entrepreneurship, has been an important figure in global economic reform and is now stepping into a new role in the national political arena.

Further details about the interim government and its plans for governance are expected to be revealed during the swearing-in ceremony.
