Newly appointed Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed has not only emphasised integrity but also his unwavering commitment to the judiciary.

“I will execute my responsibilities with unwavering integrity, competence and dedication,” the chief justice assured during a reception programme arranged by the Attorney General’s Office and the Supreme Court Bar Association on Monday (August 12).

The Supreme Court resumed its activities today after an eight-day break, with the court’s eight newly constituted benches scheduled to convene. The court’s premises were abuzz with activity from the morning as lawyers and officials gathered, signalling a return to normality in legal proceedings.

President Shahabuddin appointed Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed as Bangladesh’s 25th Chief Justice on August 10.
