CEC, 4 election commissioners resign

Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal and all four other election commissioners have submitted their resignation today (Sept 5).

Four other deputies are -- Brig Gen (retd) Ahsan Habib Khan, Rashida Sultana, Md Alamgir and Anisur Rahman.

The CEC made the announcement during a press conference held today at the Election Commission building amid speculations of his resignation, along with that of other election commissioners.

He along with the other election commissioners submitted their resignation to the president.

On February 27, 2022, former secretary Kazi Habibul Awal took the charge of the Chief Election Commissioner.
