Following the directives of Adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Syeda Rizwana Hasan, the entry fee for the National Botanical Garden located in city's Mirpur has been revised.

The ministry issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday (September 11), a ministry press release said today.

The entry fee for individual above 12 years has been reduced from Tk 100 to Tk 30. For children under 12, the previous fee was Tk 50 and now the fee for children aged 6-12 has been fixed at Tk 15, while entry fee for children aged 0-5 is free.

For groups of up to 100 students from educational institutions, the entry fee has been fixed at Tk 1,000 and for groups of 101-200 students, it is Tk 1,500. Foreign tourists will be charged an entry fee of Tk 500 or its equivalent US dollars.

Additionally, an annual entry card for morning walks has been set at Tk 500 per person. Cardholders can visit the garden from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM between November and March and from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM between April and October. In case of loss or renewal of the card, a fee of Tk 200 will be charged for a new card. The notification issued in the public interest will come into immediate effect.

Earlier, a notification was issued on April 21, 2024, increasing entry fee for the Botanical Garden, which created public reactions. Taking this into account, the environment adviser instructed the authorities
concerned to reconsider and adjust the entry fees.
