Police officers who have been absent from work will no longer be allowed to rejoin their duties, said Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.

He said, “A number of police officers involved in misconduct have not returned to their posts. Those who have not yet reported for duty will no longer be allowed to rejoin.”

The adviser made these remarks while addressing the closing ceremony of basic training for 40th BCS (Ansar) officers and 25th batch sepoy recruits at the Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Academy in Gazipur on Wednesday.

The Home Adviser also said that those involved in any form of misconduct within the police force will not be pardoned under any circumstances.

Meanwhile, a press release issued on Tuesday by the Police Headquarters said that 187 officers remain absent from duty.
