Six Medical Colleges Renamed

Sheikh Mujib and Sheikh Hasina Dropped from Titles

The names of six medical colleges, including Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College in Faridpur and Sheikh Hasina Medical College in Jamalpur, have been changed.

This information was announced in a notification signed by Dr. Md. Sarwar Bari, Secretary of the Health Education and Family Welfare Division (Medical Education-1) at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, on Wednesday (October 30).

According to the notification, the names of six government medical colleges in the country have been revised as follows. Among them, Colonel Malek Medical College in Manikganj has been renamed Manikganj Medical College, Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College in Noakhali is now Noakhali Medical College, and Sheikh Hasina Medical College in Jamalpur has been renamed Jamalpur Medical College.

Additionally, the renamed list includes Sheikh Hasina Medical College in Tangail, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College in Faridpur, and M. Abdur Rahim Medical College in Dinajpur. These have been renamed as Tangail Medical College, Faridpur Medical College, and Dinajpur Medical College, respectively.
