BNP's Meeting with the National Consensus Commission Today

The activities of the seven-member National Consensus Commission, formed under the leadership of Interim Government Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, are set to officially begin today. On the very first day, a meeting will be held with the BNP.

On Friday (February 14), BNP Media Cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan provided this information.

He stated that on Saturday at 3:00 PM, the BNP would participate in a meeting with the National Consensus Commission led by Interim Government Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. The BNP delegation will be headed by the party's Secretary General, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

Shayrul Kabir Khan further mentioned that, gradually, the National Consensus Commission will engage in discussions with other political parties as well.

It is noteworthy that the Interim Government formed the seven-member National Consensus Commission under the leadership of Dr. Muhammad Yunus. 

The other members of the commission are:

Ali Riaz, Head of the Constitutional Reform Commission,
Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury, Head of the Public Administration Reform Commission,
Safar Raj Hossain, Head of the Police Reform Commission,
Badiul Alam Majumdar, Head of the Election Reform Commission,
Justice Emdadul Haque, Head of the Judiciary Reform Commission, and
Iftekharuzzaman, Head of the Anti-Corruption Commission Reform Commission.

Ahead of the 13th National Election, the National Consensus Commission will engage in discussions with political parties and stakeholders to form a national consensus on recommendations from these commissions. 

These include reforms related to police activities, the election system, public administration, judiciary, and anti-corruption measures. The commission will also make recommendations for necessary actions on these matters.

The secretarial responsibilities of the commission will be managed by the Office of the Chief Advisor.
