Farmers Field Day Celebration

"Farmers Field Day was celebrated in Thakurgaon to open up new possibilities in mustard cultivation. This event is to motivate farmers to cultivate improved varieties of mustard."

"Under the Solidaridad Network Asia P2P project, ESDO is implementing improved varieties of mustard cultivation among 40,000 farmers in 7 upazilas of Thakurgaon and Panchagarh districts."

"The Principal Scientific Officer of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI), Thakurgaon, Dr. Sarkar Md. Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal and Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Agriculturist Md. Sirajul Islam, was present as the chief guest on the field day. Upazila Agriculture Officer, Agriculturist Md. Nasirul Alam and Solidaridad Network Asia Liaison Officer Md. Mahamudul Alam were present as special guests."

"The event was presided over by ESDO's APC-Focal Person, agriculturist Md. Ashraful Alam. The field day was moderated by Md. Atikuzzaman."

"Farmers are showing increasing interest in cultivating Bari Mustard-20 due to its high yield in a short period of time. The benefits that farmers are getting from cultivating the new variety of mustard are expected to bring about a major change in the country's mustard production in the future."
