Two more arrested in connection with robbery and molestation of female passengers on a North Bengal-bound bus on the highway

Police have arrested two people, including the mastermind, in connection with a robbery on a North Bengal-bound bus on the highway. The Tangail Superintendent of Police has confirmed the matter. A total of five people have been arrested in connection with the bus robbery and molestation of female passengers.

The arrested are Alamgir, the mastermind of the robbery, and his brother Rajib, a member of the robbery gang. They are residents of Manikganj district town. Among them, there are three more robbery cases against Alamgir in Dhaka and surrounding districts. Alamgir was arrested from Purbadhala in Netrokona on Monday night and Rajib from Ashulia.

District Police Superintendent Md. Mizanur Rahman gave this information to journalists in a press briefing on Tuesday afternoon. He also said that the operation to arrest the remaining accused is continuing. The district police rescue officers were present at the time. He also said that 4,200 taka in cash, 10 mobile phones and various goods were recovered during this time.

He also said that the arrested robbers have initially admitted responsibility for the robbery. The process of sending the arrested robbers to court is ongoing. A more vigorous operation is continuing, including interrogation of the accused. It is worth noting that a case has been filed at Mirzapur Police Station in Tangail regarding the robbery and molestation incident on a passenger bus going from Dhaka to Rajshahi on Friday.
