Amidst the escalating exchange of attacks between India and Pakistan, rendering the airspace largely unsafe, two flights bound for Dhaka have returned mid-air.

Sources at Shahjalal International Airport reported that the two flights that turned back are Turkish Airlines flight TK-712 originating from Turkey and a Kuwait Airways flight J9-533 en route to Dhaka from Kuwait City.

Both flights were scheduled to fly over Pakistani airspace, through India, to reach Bangladesh.

Flight tracking website Flightradar24 confirmed the incidents, stating that the Turkish Airlines flight aborted its journey to Bangladesh mid-air and landed at Muscat International Airport in Oman.

The Kuwait Airways flight returned to Kuwait after approximately one and a half hours of flight.

Earlier, Reuters reported that India launched missile strikes in several locations within Pakistan following an attack on tourists in Pehelgam, Kashmir, amidst ongoing tensions between the two countries.

In response, the Pakistan Army claimed to have shot down two Indian aircraft.
