Financial Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed has stated that there will be no miserliness in allocating funds for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

He made the remark while speaking to journalists on Tuesday (1 July) after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase.

In response to a question about the allocation of funds for the elections, the economic adviser said, “We will not skimp on the funds allocated for the elections.”

Regarding the decisions taken at the meeting, he added that a decision has been made on container handling at Chattogram port. Approvals have also been granted for the purchase of DAP and urea fertilizers. Furthermore, a decision was made concerning LNG; if LNG arrives, it may help increase fertilizer supply. Additionally, approval has been given for the renovation of 30 schools in Rangpur.
