The July Declaration is scheduled to be officially presented to the nation at 5:00 pm today, during a public gathering at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban.

Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, earlier said the event would be broadcast live on Bangladesh Television.

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus is expected to read out the July Declaration.

In a verified Facebook post, Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki said that the Chief Adviser will read the July Declaration in the presence of representatives from all political parties, including the BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and the NCP.

"Just as July belonged to everyone, the Declaration will also be inclusive," he wrote.

The announcement comes a year after the fall of the authoritarian Awami League government on 5 August last year, following a mass uprising led by students and ordinary citizens. Then-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled to India in the face of mounting public outrage.

Subsequently, an interim government was formed on 8 August, led by Professor Yunus. The administration has since finalised the draft of the July Declaration, which it says reflects the spirit and unity of the historic uprising.
