India's Border Security Force (BSF) has handed over 10 Bangladeshi nationals to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) through the Nakugaon Land Port in Sherpur's Nalitabari.

On Sunday (August 11) afternoon, BSF Company Commander Sheikh Bashir formally handed them over to Mymensingh 39 BGB Hatipaga Camp Commander Subedar Abdul Latif, according to Nalitabari Police Station OC Md Sohel Rana.

Six of them are children. They are said to have entered India illegally on August 6.

Sohel said that all 10 repatriated Bangladeshis are residents of Rajshahi. The BGB handed them over to Nalitabari Police Station at night to return them to their families on humanitarian grounds.

"We are contacting their families. When they arrive, we will ask them to sign the bond and release the 10 people."

However, the police officer could not provide any information about the area through which they illegally entered India and where they had stayed.
