The Election Commission (EC) has finalised the roadmap for the 13th national parliamentary elections, including the registration of new political parties in September and dialogue with parties within the same month.

According to the EC’s parliamentary election action plan, the commission has set schedules for 24 activities. The registration process for new parties is expected to be completed by September 30, after which dialogue with the parties will begin and continue until the first half of October.

During September, the commission plans to finalise the amendment of the constituency delimitation law, voter list law, polling centre guidelines and management for parliamentary elections, rules for domestic and foreign observers and journalists, as well as schedules for the amendment of the Representation of the People Order 2025 with election symbols, the Election Officials (Special Provisions) Act 1991, and the Election Commission Secretariat Act 2009.

The finalisation of the voter list is expected by November 30, though the roadmap does not specify the election date or the polling schedule.

The EC has also scheduled timelines for training, consultations, meetings, briefings, printing, budget allocation, ICT preparations, campaigns, coordination cells and inter-ministerial meetings.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin said that the elections are expected to be held in the first half of February 2026, with the schedule announced two months prior.
